Until today, on June 17th, in Romania, 22.760 cases of people infected with the COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 16.117 were declared cured and discharged.

Until today, 1.451 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 16.06.2020 (10:00) – 17.06.2020 (10:00), were registered 14 deaths (7 men and 7 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Buzău, Cluj, Galați, Ilfov, Mehedinți, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui and Vrancea.

Among these, 5 death was recorded in the age category 60-69 years, 4 deaths in the age category 70-79 years, 5 deaths in the age category over 80 years.

All deaths are from patients who have experienced comorbidities.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 345 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 161 patients are hospitalized at ATI.

On the Romanian territory, there are 1.504 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 87.624 people are in solitary confinement at home and are under medical supervision.

Until today, 585.353tests have been processed at the national level.v

In the last 24 hours, 406 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112, and 2.906 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 111 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 138.700 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 crimes were found yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

At the same time, on June 16th a.c., 92 persons who did not comply with the measure of home isolation or quarantine were placed in institutionalized quarantine for 14 days or the measure of institutionalized quarantine.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 3.529 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,885 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 107 in France, 817 in Germany, 97 in the United Kingdom , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in USA, 6 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates United, Malta, Brazil and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 115 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 7 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA and one in Brazil, they died.

29 of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, were declared cured: 9 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

Until 16th of June 2020, 1.481.425  cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France, and Germany.
