Until today, on July the 9th, in Romania, 30.789 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 22.574 were discharged, of which 20.969 patients were cured and 1.605 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

At the same time, so far, 1.834 people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.
Between 07.07.2020 (10:00) – 08.07.2020 (10:00) were registered 17 deaths (13 men and 6 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Brașov, Dâmbovița, Galați, București, Prahova, Sălaj, Suceava și Vâlcea.
Among these, 1 death in the age category 30-39 years,3 death in the age category 50-59 years, 5 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 4 deaths in the age category 70-79 and 4 deaths of persons over 80 years old.
16 deaths occurred in patients with preexistent comorbidities.
Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 614 new cases of illness have been registered.
At the moment, 240 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.
Until today, 809.663 tests have been processed at national level.
In the last 24 hours, 395 calls were registered at 112 emergency number and 1.176 registered at TELVERDE (0800 800 358).
The police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.025 sanctions, amounting to 174.950 lei, for minor offenses regarding the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 5.104 Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19: 1.885 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 107 in France, 2.275 in Germany, 97 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the USA, 105 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Greece and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic, 122 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA and one in Brazil, died.
Among the Romanian citizens who are confirmed with the new coronavirus, 72 have been declared healed: 50 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Until 8th of July 2020, 1.558.868 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
