Until today, on July the 18th, in Romania, 36.691 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 24.865 were discharged, of which 22.488 patients were cured and 2.377 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

Also, another 913 patients confirmed positive were discharged on request.

At the same time, so far, 2.009 people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.

Between 17.07.2020 (10:00) – 18.07.2020 (10:00), were registered 21 deaths (14 men and 7 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Botoșani, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Gorj, Harghita, Ialomița, Maramureș, Prahova, Suceava, Vâlcea, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Among these, 1 death in the age category 20-29 years, 1 death in the age category 30-39 years, 1 death in the age category 40-49 years, 3 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 4 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 8 deaths in the age category 70-79,  and 3 deaths, persons over 80 years old.

In all cases, deaths occurred in patients with preexistent comorbidities.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 889 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 280 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.

Until today, 943.733 tests have been processed at national level.

In the last 24 hours, 610 calls were registered at 112 emergency number, and 1.075 at TELVERDE 0800 800 358, a telephone line strictly assigned to inform.

The police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.349 sanctions, amounting to 451.970 lei, for minor offenses regarding the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a special telephone line TELVERDE (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 5.212   Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19: 1.885 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 117 in France, 2.330 in Germany, 129 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 111 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 12 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic, 122 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA and one in Brazil, died.

Among the Romanian citizens who are confirmed with the new coronavirus, 158 have been declared healed: 135 in Germany, 11 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

We remind tthe citizens to consider only the information verified by official sources and to call for recommendations and other information on the line TELVERDE – 0800.800.358. The TELVERDE number is not an emergency number, but a telephone line strictly assigned to inform. Also, Romanians abroad can request information about preventing and combating the virus at the line specially dedicated to them, +4021.320.20.20.

Other decisions, as well as other data of interest, will be made public as soon as possible.

Until 17th of July 2020, 1.609.235 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France, and Germany.
