Until today, on July 29th, in Romania, 48.235 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 26.446 were declared cured and discharged and 3.870 asymptomatic patients were discharged at 10 days after detection.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1.182 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total, and new cases can be found in the table below:

At the same time, so far, 2.269 people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.

Between 28.07.2020 (10:00) – 29.07.2020 (10:00) were registered 30 deaths (15 men and 15 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Botoșani, Brașov, Dâmbovița, Gorj, Harghita, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Prahova, Timiș, Vâlcea, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Among these, 3 deaths were recorded in the age group 40-49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 50-59, 9 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 11 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 2 deaths in the age category over 80 years.

In all cases, death occurred in patients who had comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 6.926. Of these, 377 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.

Until today, 1.154.228 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 22.049 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13.954 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 8.095 on request. Also, since the last information made by SCG, the results of 480  tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until July 29th have also been reported.

In Romania, 2.713 people confirmed with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.510 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 16.304 people are quarantined at home, and 21 persons are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 915 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and  1.380 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 969  of contravention sanctions, amounting to 174.250 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 1 crime was found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a special telephone line TELVERDE (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 5.479 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,891 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.551 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 111 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 16 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia , Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden and Congo Republic. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 123 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, 1 in Brazil and one in Congo Republic, they died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 165 were declared cured: 135 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Until 28th of July 2020, 1.688.757 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
