Until today, on August 4th, in Romania, 55.241  cases of people infected with COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed.

28.006 were declared cured and discharged and 5.136 asymptomatic patients were discharged at 10 days after detection.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1.232  new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

At the same time, so far, 2480 people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.

Between 3.08.2020 (10:00) – 4.08.2020 (10:00) were registered 48 deaths (31 men and 17 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Dâmbovița, Galați, Harghita, Hunedoara, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Vrancea, Ilfov și Municipiul București.

Among these,  1 deaths were recorded in the age group 30-39, 2 deaths in the age category 40-49, in the age category 4 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 17 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 12 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 12 deaths in the age category over 80 years.

In all cases, death occurred in patients who had comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.771. Of these, 436 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.

Until today, 1.268.899 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 20.581 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13.033 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 7.548 on request.

In Romania,  5.322 people confirmed with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 4.561 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 18.863 people are quarantined at home, and 177 persons are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 973 calls were registered to the unique emergency number and 1.268 to TELVERDE (0800 800 358).

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.303 of contravention sanctions, amounting to 254.200 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 crimes was found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a special telephone line TELVERDE (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 5.571 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,891 in Italy, 570 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.632 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 111 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 18 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia , Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden and Congo Republic. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 123 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, 1 in Brazil and one in Congo Republic, they died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 189 were declared cured: 159 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Until 3rd of August 2020, 1 738 097 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
