Until today, on August 10th, in Romania, 62.547 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed.

30.311 were declared cured and discharged and 5.639 asymptomatic patients were discharged at 10 days after detection.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 779new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

At the same time, so far, 2729 people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.

Between 9.08.2020 (10:00) – 10.08.2020 (10:00) were registered 29 deaths (18 men and 11 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Brăila, Buzău, Dâmbovița, Galați, Gorj, Hunedoara, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vâlcea, Vaslui and Bucharest.

Among these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 20-29 years, 1 death was recorded in the age group 30-39 years, 1 deaths were recorded in the age group 40-49 years, 2 deaths in the age group 50-59 years, 9 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 9 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 6 deaths in the age category over 80 years.

In 28 cases death occurred in patients who had comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.763. Of these, 476 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.

Until today, 1.385.334 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 6.607 were performed in the last 24 hours, 4.738 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 1.869 on request.

In Romania, 7.229 people confirmed with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.373 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 20.898 people are quarantined at home, and 156 persons are in institutionalized quarantine.

We inform you that the list of countries and areas with high epidemiological risk has been updated and can be consulted on the website of the National Institute of Public Health (https://www.cnscbt.ro/index.php/liste-zone-afectate-covid- 19).

The list enters into force starting with 11.08.2020 at 00:00.

In the last 24 hours, 678 calls were registered to the unique emergency number.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.519 of contravention sanctions, amounting to 429.450 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, one crime was found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a special telephone line TELVERDE (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 5.626 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,891 in Italy, 570 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.672 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 111 in Austria, 17 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 18 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia , Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden, Congo Republic, Hungary and Qatar.. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 123 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, 1 in Brazil and one in Congo Republic, they died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 189 were declared cured: 159 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

Until 9th of August 2020, 1.815.041 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
