Until today, on August 27th, in Romania, 83.150 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed.
36.677 were declared cured and discharged and 10.130 asymptomatic patients were discharged at 10 days after detection.
Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1.504 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. At the same time, so far, 3.459 people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.
Between 26.08.2020 (10:00) – 27.08.2020 (10:00) were registered 38 deaths (22 men and 16 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brașov, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.
Among these, one death was recorded in the age group 30 -39, 6 deaths were recorded in the age group 50-59 years, 7 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 13 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 6 deaths in the age category over 80 years.
In 37 cases death occurred in patients who had comorbidities.
In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.288. Of these, 492 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.
Until today, 1.730.420 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 25.052 were performed in the last 24 hours, 14.151 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 10.901 on request.
In Romania, 11.351 people confirmed with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.654 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 30.770 people are quarantined at home, and 31 persons are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 1.014 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 572 at TELVERDE 0800 800 358, a telephone line strictly assigned to inform.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 782 sanctions, amounting 252.651 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, one crime was found yesterday, regarding the thwart the fight against diseases, 3 crimes provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a special telephone line TELVERDE (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.
The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6.585 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,898 in Italy, 1253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.935 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia , Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden, Congo Republic Hungary and Qatar. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad died: 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, 1 in Brazil, one in Congo Republic and one in Greece.
Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Until 26h of August 2020, 2 097 431 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
