Until today, on September 22nd, on the territory of Romania, 114.648 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

92.169 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1.059  new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 4.503 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 21.09.2020 (10:00) – 22.09.2020 (10:00) there were registered 45 deaths (28 men and 17 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Dâmbovița, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Among these, 1 death were recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 1 death were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 6 death were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 11 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 16 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 10 deaths in the over-80s category.

All of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities and for one registered death there were no comorbidities reported.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.119. Of these, 496 are hospitalized at Intensive care.

Until today, 2.253.380 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 21.978 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13.773 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 8.205 on request.

In Romania, 11.090 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 7.566 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 34.393 people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 8 people.

In the last 24 hours, 1.070  calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 456  sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 96.050 lei.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,612 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 112 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

As of 21 September 2020, 2 868 502 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
