The largest catch of captagon and hashish pills in the history of the Romanian Police

Following an operation carried out by the police of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime – Anti-Drug Service and the Service for Combating Organized Crime Maritime Ports, together with D.I.I.C.O.T. – The Central Structure, started in August 2020, drugs worthing 60,000,000 euros were discovered.

On August 30th the current year, a ship arrived in the Port of Constanța carrying two containers, with 40 tons of non-food products, sent from the Port of Latakya, Syria and which would have transited Turkey.

Following a control carried out on the basis of the orders issued by the case prosecutor, in one of the two containers were discovered, concealed, 1,480 kg. of hashish and 751 kg. of captagon pills (4,024,250 captagon pills).

The market value of drugs is about 60,000,000 euros.

The drugs were concealed between legal goods, so as to avoid their discovery by specific technical means of detecting these substances.

The covering goods contained very high-density organic soap, which was meant to mask the drugs that were between the cardboard boxes containing the soap.

Captagon tablets are usually high in amphetamine.

The seizure represents the largest seizure of captagon and hashish pills in the history of the structures for combating drug trafficking within the Romanian Police.

The activities carried out during the operation were carried out in cooperation with the D.E.A. -US.

Currently, research is being conducted on several people, Romanian and foreign citizens, in order to establish the involvement in the organization of this drug transport.

During the operation, he also benefited from the support of the Customs Office Constanța Sud Agigea.
