Until today, on September 23rd, on the territory of Romania, 116.415 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

93.558 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1.767  new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 4.550 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 22.09.2020 (10:00) – 23.09.2020 (10:00) there were registered 47 deaths (35 men and 12 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in din Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Sibiu, Suceava, Tulcea, Vâlcea and Bucharest.

Among these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 20-29 years, 3 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 5 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 10 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 16 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 11 deaths in the over-80s category.

In 45 cases, the deaths presented comorbidities, in one case there was no comorbidity reported, and in one case there have been no comorbidities reported till now.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.061. Of these, 498 are hospitalized at Intensive care.

Until today, 2.278.125 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 24.544 were performed in the last 24 hours, 15.165 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 9.379 on request.

Also, since the last information made by GCS, have been reported the results of 201 tests processed before the last 24 hours and submitted until September 23rd.

In Romania, 8.917  people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 6.959 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 23.442 people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 179 people.

In the last 24 hours, 1.011 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 543 calls at TELVERDE 0800 800 358, a telephone line strictly assigned to inform.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 511  sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 114.024 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, one crime was found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,612 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 112 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad died, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece,.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

As of  September 23rd, 2 923 580 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.
