Until today, on October 9th, on the territory of Romania, 148.886 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

114.792 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 3.186 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

The counties in which the coefficient of infections cumulated at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is above the threshold of 1.5 are the following:

Until today, 5.299 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 08.10.2020 (10:00) – 09.10.2020 (10:00)  there were registered 52 deaths (24 men and 28 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in din Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Mureș, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Among these, 4 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 5 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 16 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 13 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 14 deaths in the over-80 category.

In 51 cases death occurred in patients who had comorbidities, and in tone case the patient had not presented comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8.772. Of these, 613 are hospitalized at intensive care.

Until today, 2.627.544 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 29.282 were performed in the last 24 hours, 17.286 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 11.996 on request.

In Romania, 12.935 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 8.418 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 27.009 people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 9 persons.

In the last 24 hours, 2.164 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 1.438 calls at TELVERDE 0800 800 358, a telephone line strictly assigned to inform.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 4.519  sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 708.995 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 crimes were found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6.777 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.999 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 122  in Austria, 21 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in UAE and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad died, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

As of  October 6 th , 3.782.334 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.
