Until today, on October 15th, on the territory of Romania, 168.490  cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

125.009 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 4.013 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Considering the provisions of art. 4, para. 2 and 4 of annex no. 2 the H.G. no. 856 of 14.10.2020 regarding the extension of the alert status on the Romanian territory starting with October 15, 2020, the incidence of cases at 14 days for counties and the Municipality of Bucharest is being updated and will be communicated later, as soon as we receive these data.

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 691 people were reconfirmed positively. The distribution by county of these cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 5.674 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 14.10.2020 (10:00) – 15.10.2020 (10:00) there were registered 73 deaths (46 men and 27 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in din Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Gorj, Harghita, Ialomița, Iași, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui and Bucharest.

Among these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 20-29 years, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 22 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 24 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 21 deaths in the over-80 category.

In all cases death occurred in patients who had comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9.611. Of these, 721 are hospitalized at intensive care.

Until today, 2.770.481 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 29.646 were performed in the last 24 hours, 17.575 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 12.081 on request.

Also, since the last SGC Information, have been reported the results of 211 tests processed before the last 24 hours and submitted until October 15th .

In Romania, 17.190 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 8.986 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 40.136 people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 43 persons.

In the last 24 hours, 2.313 calls were registered to the unique emergency number and 1.197 to TELVERDE (0800 800 358).

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 6.020 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 1.017.822 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 6 crimes were found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6.812 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.999 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 122  in Austria, 21 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in UAE and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad died, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

As of  October 14th , 4.301.247 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.
