Until today, on October 18th, in Romania, 180,388 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed (COVID – 19).

130,894 patients were declared cured.

 

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 3,920 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. Distribution by counties of the cases for the total and of the new ones or those found in the table below.

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, after retesting the patients who were already positive, 565 people were reconfirmed positively. The distribution by county of these cases can be found in the table below.

To date, 5,872 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

 

Between 17.10.2020 (10:00) – 18.10.2020 (10:00) were reported 60 deaths (41 men and 19 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș , Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brăila, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Maramureș, Mureș, Prahova, Timiș, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.

 

Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 9 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 14 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 19 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 16 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

 

58 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 1 patient did not present comorbidities, and for 1 patient no comorbidities have been reported so far.

 

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9,984. Of these, 749 are hospitalized at ATI.

 

To date, 2,852,186 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 19,507 were performed in the last 24 hours, 11,530 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 7,977 on request.

 

In Romania, 20,301 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 9,583 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 46,475 people are in quarantine at home, and 45 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

 

In the last 24 hours, 1,597 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112.

 

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmerie applied, in the last 24 hours, 7,077 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 1,439,260 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 13 crimes were found yesterday to thwart the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

 

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

 

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,829 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,013 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 36 in Hungary, 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 122 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican and Portugal . From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

As of 17 October 2020, 4,680,037 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany.
