Until today, on October 25th , in Romania, 209.648 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

149.741 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 3.855 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below.

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive 947 people were reconfirmed positively. The distribution by counties of these cases can be found in the table below.

Until today, , 6.391 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 24.10.2020 (10:00) – 25.10.2020 (10:00), 73 deaths (37 men and 36 women) were reported, of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Maramureș, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Timiș, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 3 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, years 7 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 16 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 24 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 23 deaths in the age category of over 80 years.

71 deaths were from patients with comorbidities.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 10.482. Of these, 828 are hospitalized at intensive care units.

To date, 3.055.989 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 19.292 were performed in the last 24 hours, 11.948 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 7.344 upon request.

In Romania, 26.043 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 9.907 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 55.355 people are in quarantine at home, and 55 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 1.996 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 7.465 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to  1.332.740 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 9 crimes were found yesterday to thwart the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,851 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,934 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,017 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 36 in Hungary, 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Congo, Qatar, Vatican and Portugal . Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in France, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

As of 24th October 2020, 5 728 142 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany.
