To date, on October 28, in Romania, 222,559 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

159,855 patients were declared cured.

 Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 5,343 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below.

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 777 people were reconfirmed positively. The distribution by county of these cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 6,681 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 27.10.2020 (10:00) – 28.10.2020 (10:00) 107 deaths (60 men and 47 women) were reported, of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui and the Municipality .

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 0-9 years, 2 in the age category 30-39 years, 7 deaths were recorded in the category 40-49 years, 17 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 16 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 38 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 26 deaths in the over 80 years category.

100 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities and for 6 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 10,934. Of these, 861 are hospitalized at ATI.

To date, 3,133,809 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 36,815 were performed in the last 24 hours, 22,641 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 14,174 upon request.

Also, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 468 tests processed before the last 24 hours and submitted until October 28 have been reported.

In Romania, 27,280 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 9,931 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 50,565 people are in quarantine at home, and 52 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 2,823 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 1,082 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 6,302 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 962,800 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, were found, yesterday, 7 crimes to thwart the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,851 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,934 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,017 in Germany, 159 in the United Kingdom , 36 in Hungary, 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Qatar, the Vatican and Portugal . From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

As of 27th of October 2020, 6,269,320 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany.
