To date, on July 9th, in Romania, 1,081,174 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

1,045,351 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 54 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below..

*Regarding the “new cases not allocated by counties”, we specify that their number is determined by the changes brought to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the testing centers directly introduce the results of the tests performed, and the epidemiological investigation will be performed at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases will be assigned to the county / locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of infections accumulated at 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the level of Bucharest Municipality and counties. Below you have the graph based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 13 people were reconfirmed positively. The distribution by county of these cases can be found in the table below.

To date, 34,197 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

 

Between 08.07.2021 (10:00) – 09.07.2021 (10:00) were reported by INSP 29 deaths (15 men and 14 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Argeş, Brașov , Iaşi, Mureș and Prahova.

28 of these deaths predate the above mentioned interval and were entered in the database, at the request of the Ministry of Health, by the Public Health Directorates of the country, following the verifications performed.

Thus, 2 of them occurred in October 2020, 5 in November 2020, 1 in December 2020, 1 in February 2021, 3 in March 2021, 5 in April 2021, 10 in May 2021 and 1 in June 2021, in the counties of Argeş, Brașov, Iaşi and Mureș.

Of the 29 deaths, 1 was recorded in the age group 40-49 years, 7 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 12 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 9 deaths in the age category over 80 years.

 

27 of the recorded deaths were of patients who presented with comorbidities, and 2 deceased patients did not present with comorbidities.

 

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 311. Of these, 58 are hospitalized at Intensive Care Units.

 

To date, 8,453,724 RT-PCR tests and 1,560,788 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 11,991 RT-PCR tests were performed (5,499 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 6,492 on request) and 12,530 rapid antigen tests.

 

In Romania, 2,024 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 670 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 21,992 people are in quarantine at home, and 34 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

 

In the last 24 hours, 227 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 485 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

 

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on July 8, 418 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 120,260 lei.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 23,562 Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 2,543 in Italy, 16,778 in Spain, 195 in the United Kingdom, 127 in France, 3,124 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 5 in USA, 8 in Sweden, 143 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 75 in Switzerland, 4 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus , 7 in Bulgaria, 18 in Cyprus, 4 in India, 5 in Ukraine, 8 in United Arab Emirates, 14 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland, 5 in Singapore, 5 in Tunisia, 9 in Korea, 2 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2 in Serbia and one each in Argentina, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, the Republic of the Congo, Qatar, the Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Slovenia, the Russian Federation, Croatia, Finland and Poland. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 193 Romanian citizens abroad, 37 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 60 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 5 in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Austria, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo, one in Greece, one in Iran and one in Poland, died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

Below we present the situation regarding the infection with the SARS – CoV – 2 virus at European and global level:

Between of Junly 1 – Junly 8, 2021, 33,270,049  cases were reported in the EU / EEA. Most cases have been reported in France, Italy, Spain and Germany.

As of 15 December, the CEPCB has stopped publishing data on the number of confirmed cases and the number of deceased citizens, both in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra and globally. These reports are updated weekly.

Data published by Johns Hopkins CSSE, targeting the number of healed citizens, continues to be updated daily.
