Training sessions on the identification of human trafficking victims, held by representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest

n 2024, at the initiative of the Diplomatic Security Office of the Embassy of the United States of America in Bucharest, the project was continued for the organization of training sessions on the identification of victims of human trafficking, with the police who act in the street segment.

At the level of the leadership of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, the main coordinates for the implementation of the initiated cooperation were established, so that the representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America in Bucharest, supported by specialists from the organized crime fighting brigades, planned and carried out training sessions within the Constanța County Police Inspectorate (June 26th this year), the Iași County Police Inspectorate (September 9th this year), the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate (September 10th this year) and the Suceava County Police Inspectorate (September 11th this year).

Also, a training session with police officers from the Timiș County Police Inspectorate is to be organized.

In the same context, on May 21st this year, at the headquarters of the „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Police Academy in Bucharest, a methodical session was organized with the aim of transferring experience and specialized and methodical knowledge to the teaching staff responsible for carrying out teaching-learning activities in the thematic area circumscribed to the field of human trafficking (teaching to develop the professional skills of learners, as future first responders, with duties to detect potential victims of human trafficking).

The training session and the pedagogical tools were provided by the representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America in Bucharest.

The activity was attended by representatives of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime from the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, teaching staff from post-secondary schools subordinated to the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie and the General Inspectorate of the Border Police and teaching staff from the „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Police Academy.
