Until today, on August 13th, 66.631 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed in Romania.
31.547 were declared cured and 7.253 asymptomatic patients were discharged at 10 days after detection.
Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1.454 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. At the same time, so far, 2.860 people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.
Between 12.08.2020 (10:00) – 13.08.2020 (10:00) were registered 53 deaths (32 men and 21 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Brăila, Buzău, Caraș – Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.
Among these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 30 – 39 years, 1 death was recorded in the age group 40 – 49 years, 3 deaths were recorded in the age group 50-59 years, 13 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 24 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 11 deaths in the age category over 80 years.
In 49 cases, death occurred in patients who had comorbidities. 4 patients did not have comorbidities.
In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.437. Of these, 478 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.
Until today, 1.450.269 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 22.649 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13.999 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 8.650 on request.
In Romania, 7.935 people confirmed with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.421 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 20.775 people are quarantined at home, and 101 persons are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 1.003 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 564 at TELVERDE 0800 800 358, a telephone line strictly assigned to inform.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.045 sanctions, amounting to 253.690 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, one crime was found yesterday, regarding the thwart the fight against diseases, provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a special telephone line TELVERDE (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.
The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 5.630 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.891 in Italy, 570 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.672 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 111 in Austria, 19 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia , Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden, Congo Republic, Hungary and Qatar. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 123 Romanian citizens abroad died: 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, 1 in Brazil and one in Congo Republic.
Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 189 were declared cured: 159 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Until August12th 2020, 1.853.444 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
