Until today, on July the 19th, in Romania, 37.458 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive, 25.042 were discharged, of which 22.617 patients were cured and 2.425 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

Also, another 935 patients confirmed positive were discharged on request.

At the same time, so far, 2.026 people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.

Between 18.07.2020 (10:00) – 19.07.2020 (10:00), were registered 17 deaths (5 men and 12 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Argeș, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Iași, Maramureș, Olt, and Sibiu.

Among these, 2 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 2 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 4 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 5 deaths in the age category 70-79,  and 4 deaths, persons over 80 years old.

In 16 cases, deaths occurred in patients with preexistent comorbidities. One patient who died did not presented comorbidities.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 767 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 286 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.

Until today, 958.622 tests have been processed at national level.

In the last 24 hours, 465 calls were registered at 112 emergency number.

The police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.662 sanctions, amounting to 446.300 lei, for minor offenses regarding the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a special telephone line TELVERDE (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 5.215   Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19: 1.885 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 117 in France, 2.330 in Germany, 129 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 111 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 15 in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic, 122 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA and one in Brazil, died.

Among the Romanian citizens who are confirmed with the new coronavirus, 158 have been declared healed: 135 in Germany, 11 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

We remind the citizens to consider only the information verified by official sources and to call for recommendations and other information on the line TELVERDE – 0800.800.358. The TELVERDE number is not an emergency number, but a telephone line strictly assigned to inform. Also, Romanians abroad can request information about preventing and combating the virus at the line specially dedicated to them, +4021.320.20.20.

Other decisions, as well as other data of interest, will be made public as soon as possible.

Until 18th of July 2020, 1.616.161 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France, and Germany.
