Until today, on June 8th, in Romania, 20.604 of the number of people infected with the COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Among the people confirmed positively, 14.826 were declared cured and were claimed and released.

At the same time, so far, 1334 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection, hospitalized in Dolj, Bucharest, Iași, Suceava, Arad, Bacău, Timiș, Cluj, Neamț, Hunedoara, Constanța, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Ialomița, Bistrița- Năsăud, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Vrancea, Galați, Caraș-Severin, Mureș, Giurgiu, Bihor, Argeș, Vaslui, Botoșani, Alba, Sălaj, Brașov, Mehedinți, Teleorman, Gorj, Prahova, Vâlcea, Călărași, Maramure Harghita, Tulcea and Buzau died.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 125 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 146 patients are hospitalized at ATI.

On the Romanian territory, there are 2,113 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 94,405 people are in solitary confinement at home and are under medical supervision.

Until this date, 506,115 tests have been processed at national level.

In the last 24 hours, 289 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 585 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 343 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 168,100 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, a crime was found yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

At the same time, on June 7th this year, 73 persons who did not comply with the measure of home isolation or quarantine were placed in institutionalized quarantine for 14 days or the measure of institutionalized quarantine was ordered for a new period of 14 days.

 Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 3,304 Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,885 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 84 in France, 617 in Germany, 97 in the United Kingdom , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in USA, 4 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates United, Malta, Brazil and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 114 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 6 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA and one in Brazil, they died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 28 were declared cured: 9 in Germany, 9 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

Starting today, June 8th, passengers traveling to the UK will be required to complete a form, in the event of the introduction of a mandatory quarantine for all persons coming from abroad. It can be found by accessing the link: https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk
