Until today, on October 12th, on the territory of Romania, 157.352 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

118.912  patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 2.069 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 5.467 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 11.10.2020 (10:00) – 12.10.2020 (10:00)  there were registered 56 deaths (37 men and 19 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in din Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brașov, Călărași, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Timiș, Vaslui and Bucharest.

Among these, 1 death were recorded in the age category 20-29 years, 1 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years,8 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 18 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 21 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 7 deaths in the over-80 category.

In all cases death occurred in patients who had comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9.365. Of these, 628 are hospitalized at intensive care.

Until today, 2.682.588 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 10.051 were performed in the last 24 hours, 6.605 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 3.446 on request.

In Romania, 14.446 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 8.866 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 31.314  people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 9 persons.

In the last 24 hours, 1.197 calls were registered to the unique emergency number.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 6.281 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 1.253.655 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 5 crimes were found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6.812 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.999 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 122  in Austria, 21 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in UAE and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad died, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

As of  October 11th4.051.387 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.
