Until today, on October 3rd , on the territory of Romania, 134.065 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

107.058 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 2.064 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 4.947 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 02.10.2020 (10:00) – 03.10.2020 (10:00) there were registered 32 deaths (18 men and 14 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in din Alba, Bacău, Bihor, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Mehedinți, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Among these, 1 death were recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 2 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 4 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 7 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 10 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 8 deaths in the over-80 category.

In all 32 cases death occurred in patients who had comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.734. Of these, 583 are hospitalized at intensive care.

Until today, 2.496.439 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 24.847 were performed in the last 24 hours, 15.455 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 9.392 on request.

Also, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 93 tests processed before the last 24 hours and submitted until October 3 rd have been reported.

In Romania, 10.817 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 7.516 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 23.237 people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 28 people.

In the last 24 hours, 1.499 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112, and 843 calls at TELVERDE 0800 800 358, a telephone line strictly assigned to inform.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.829  sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 302.740 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 crimes were found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6.702 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 119  in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 7 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 2 in UAE and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad died, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 733 were declared cured: 613 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

As of  October 2nd , 3 404 566 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.
