Until today, on October 6th, on the territory of Romania, 139.612 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

109.898 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 2.121 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, , 5.121 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 05.10.2020 (10:00) – 06.10.2020 (10:00) there were registered 73 deaths (44 men and 29 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Among these, 2 death were recorded in the age category 40-49 years,15 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 15 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 24 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 22 deaths in the over-80s category.

In 69 cases, the deaths presented comorbidities, in 3 case, there were not comorbidities, and in one case there were no comorbidities reported till now.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8.097. Of these, 608 are hospitalized at intensive care.

Until today, 2.540.222 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 23.476 were performed in the last 24 hours, 14.771 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 8.705 on request.

In Romania, 11.433 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 7.834 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 23.695  people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 9 people.

In the last 24 hours, 1.858 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112, and 1.312  calls at TELVERDE 0800 800 358, a telephone line strictly assigned to inform.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.808 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 246.400 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 crimes was found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6.766 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 119  in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 7 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 2 in UAE and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad died, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

As of  Octomber 05th, 3.569.918 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.
