Until today, on October 7th, on the territory of Romania, 142.570 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

111.564 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 2.958 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 5.203 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 06.10.2020 (10:00) – 07.10.2020 (10:00) there were registered 82 deaths (52 men and 30 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in din Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Brăila, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Note: According to the request of the Ministry of Health, the situation of deaths related to August and September was updated by DSP Brăila with 17 identified cases.

Among these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 10-19 years, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 8 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 18 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 30 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 23 deaths in the over-80 category.

In 79 cases death occurred in patients who had comorbidities, and in three cases there were no comorbidities reported so far.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8.303. Of these, 612 are hospitalized at intensive care.

Until today, 2.568.071 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 27.814 were performed in the last 24 hours, 17.351 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 10.463 on request.

Also, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 35 tests processed before the last 24 hours and submitted by October 7 have been reported.

In Romania, 11.965 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 7.889 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 24.600 people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 9 persons.

In the last 24 hours, 1.903 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 2.339 calls at TELVERDE 0800 800 358, a telephone line strictly assigned to inform.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 3.401 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 537.823 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 3 crimes was found yesterday, regarding the  thwart the fight against diseases, a crime provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6.767 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.999 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 120  in Austria, 21 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 7 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in UAE and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad died, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

As of  October 6 th , 3.639.898 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the Spain, France, United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.
