Until today, on September 18th, on the territory of Romania, 110,217 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

88,235 patients were declared cured.

* The figure represents the total number of people cured since the beginning of the pandemic and resulted as a result of the review and updating of data by the Ministry of Health and CNCCI.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1,527 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 4,360 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 17.09.2020 (10:00) – 18.09.2020 (10:00) there were registered 48 deaths (28 men and 20 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brăila, Brașov, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Among these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 17 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 15 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 14 deaths in the over-80s category.

44 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 3 deceased patients had no comorbidities and for one deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,081. Of these, 447 are hospitalized at Intensive care.

Until today, 2.185.923 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 25.254 were performed in the last 24 hours, 16.065 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 9.189 on request.

In Romania, 11,684 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 5,962 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 38,999 people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 8 people.

In the last 24 hours, 1,087 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 578 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 519 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 152,800 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 4 crimes were found yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,599 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,905 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

As of 17 September 2020, 2.715.732  cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
