Until today, on September 19th, on the territory of Romania, 111,550 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

89,119 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1,333 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 4,402 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 18.09.2020 (10:00) – 19.09.2020 (10:00) there were registered 42 deaths (21 men and 21 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Bacău, Brăila, Călărași, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui and Bucharest.

Among these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 6 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 12 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 15 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 8 deaths in the over-80s category.

All the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 6,996. Of these, 461 are hospitalized at Intensive care.

Until today, 2.210.071 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 23.030  were performed in the last 24 hours, 14.305  based on the case definition and medical protocol and 8.725  on request.

Also, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 1,118 tests processed before the last 24 hours and submitted by September 19 th have been reported.

In Romania, 11,845 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 6,013 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 38,818 people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 7 people.

In the last 24 hours, 1,132 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 572 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 488 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 112,300 lei.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,312 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 112 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

As of 18 September 2020, 2.759.394  cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
