Until today, on September 24th, in Romania, 118,054 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

94,877 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1,639 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below:

Until today, 4,591 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 23.09.2020 (10:00) – 24.09.2020 (10:00) there were 41 deaths (25 men and 16 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Bacau, Bihor , Bistrița-Năsăud, Brașov, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dolj, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Satu Mare, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Among these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 2 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 8 deaths in the category 50-59 years, 11 deaths in the age category 60-69 years , 9 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 9 deaths in the category over 80 years old.

38 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 2 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In the specialized health units, the total number of persons hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,136. Of these, 506 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until today, 2,302,828 tests have been processed at the national level. Of these, 24,278 were performed in the last 24 hours, 15,314 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 8,964 on request.

Also, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 425 tests processed before the last 24 hours and submitted until September 24 have been reported.

On the Romanian territory, 9,324 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 6,953 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 23,769 people are in quarantine at home, and 179 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 1,238 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 575 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 506 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 114,000 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 crimes were found yesterday to thwart the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,612 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain, 28 in Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 112 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Until 23rd September 2020, 2,966,428 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany.
