Until today, on September 8th , in Romania, 97.033 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed.
40.838 were declared cured and discharged and 12.590asymptomatic patients were discharged at 10 days after detection.
Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1.136 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. At the same time, so far, 3.967 people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.
Between 07.09.2020 (10:00) – 08.09.2020 (10:00) were registered 41 deaths (22 men and 19 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Dolj, Galați, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Among these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 30-39 years, 4 deaths were recorded in the age group 40-49 years, 3 deaths were recorded in the age group 50-59 years, 9 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 18 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 6 deaths in the age category over 80 years.
All 41 cases death occurred in patients who had comorbidities.
In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.199. Of these, 460 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.
Until today, 1.966.290 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 20.552 were performed in the last 24 hours, 12.455 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 8.097 on request.
In Romania, 10.257 people confirmed with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 6.171 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 34.260 people are quarantined at home, and 45 persons are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 903 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 794 to TELVERDE (0800 800 358).
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 578 sanctions, amounting 173.400 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, one crime was found yesterday, regarding the thwart the fight against diseases, for crimes provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a special telephone line TELVERDE (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.
The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6.599 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,905 in Italy, 1253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in Ukraine, and one each in Argentina, Tunisia , Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Congo Republic Hungary and Qatar. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad died: 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in Congo Republic and one in Greece.
Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Until 7th of September, 2 373 856 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
