The fifth meeting of the Monitoring Committee for the implementation of the National Strategy against Trafficking in Human Beings

In the context of intensifying measures on combating trafficking in human beings, today, 17.09.2020, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (M.A.I.) organized the 5th meeting of the Monitoring Committee for the implementation of the National Strategy against Trafficking in Persons (S.N.I.T.P.).

The meeting was attended by representatives of: Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Works, Development and Administration, Ministry of Education and Research, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Economy, Energy and Environment, Department for Romanians from Everywhere, Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism, National Authority for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Children and Adoptions, the works being led by Secretary of State Quaestor of Police Bogdan Despescu, as coordinator of the monitoring Committee.

The activity also benefited from the presence of the representatives of the United States Embassy in Bucharest, of the eLiberare Association and the International Justice Mission Bucharest.

Among the topics included in the agenda were the stage of evaluation of the National Action Plan for the period 2018-2020, the elaboration of the new National Action Plan 2021-2022, as well as the opportunity to support initiatives aimed at preventing and combating human trafficking.

Also, the Plan of measures regarding the recommendations addressed to the Romanian Government by the US State Department (TIP Report) was adopted, being agreed the way of working for the implementation of the recommendations formulated by the Special Representative and coordinator for combating human trafficking of O.S.C.E.
